I've decided to do a super-mini "review" on the most recent novel I've read and also the most recent film I've seen. (it was a "now a major motion picture"-novel... hahah =P) I read the book first, then watched the movie. Overall, I thought the story was great! AND it was pretty scandalous! lol! I learned some history too, so it was very worthwhile. =)
Book (Author: Philippa Gregory)
It starts off when the main character was just a young girl, and progresses with the change of seasons, until in the end, she's a grown lady. I liked how the changes in character, in pretty much everyone, were shown during the long timespan of the story... The book was very detailed, and at the same time, fast-paced. I finished reading it in less than 3 weeks! =) ...which is pretty fast for me, since I usually don't read for long durations... and it was a thick-ish book too... =P Haha, I remember that while reading it, I kept thinking, "Wow, what a biiitch!" a lot. So yeah, it was good. lol!
Movie (Director: Justin Chadwick)
It had good cast: Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman, Eric Bana... and I thought they did a nice job. However, the movie obviously skipped a lot of parts from the book, which is too bad, I guess. Although I remember thinking, "What a biiitch!" a lot too! Hahah! The progression in the story for the movie was pretty quick, and I think it would've been confusing if I had seen it without/before reading it... So, the movie was only okay in comparison to the book.
And that's it! It's been about a week since I've finished reading and watching this, so it's kinda difficult to really describe my feelings and stuff towards it... I just thought it'd be nice to "critique" it. =)
